17 Weeks

I don't even know what to call this "toy" other than "Around We Go" since that is what it said on the box, but Campbell can finally enjoy it. We tried to put her in it about 2 weeks ago and she wouldn't hold her head up (even though she can) or play with any of the toys. Now she is really starting to like it. She especially likes the piano section.

She takes a break every once in a while to do this.

Curious little face.

She's looking at me like, "What are you doing?"

She can barely touch so she can't quite move her seat around the contraption like it's supposed to.

Happy girl!!!

This is really random, but I thought it was too funny. I put Campbell in her bouncey seat in the kitchen with me the other day while I was making lunch. I was cutting up a bunch of things to go in a salad, and I really wanted to get it done. Campbell was getting very hungry for her bottle so I went ahead and made it and propped it up on a blanket so I didn't have to sit there and feed it to her. ( Terrible I know. It was my first time to do this. Promise.) It worked really well, and I only had to adjust the position of the bottle 1 or 2 times. At one point I looked down to check on her and she was in the position she's in in the pictures below. Arms straight out. They're barely even resting on her bouncey seat, just straight out to the side. She stayed in that position for about 5 minutes! Random story I know, but it looked really funny!

The first two pictures below show Campbell doing her new favorite thing, holding both legs in the air. Sometimes if she can't quite reach her feet, she'll just hold her pant legs. Any time we put her down on her back, she immediately goes to this position. It is too funny to turn on her video monitor and see her doing this in her crib at bedtime. I thought she was going to fall asleep like this the other night

Our sweet friends, Sam and AJ, were so kind to offer to babysit Campbell for us so Kevin and I could have a night out without the baby. We were so excited to take them up on their offer and figured it would be no problem at all since Campbell goes to sleep so early. They were looking forward to being able to play with her for a little while before she went to bed so I was going to have her take a late nap so she could be up a little later than usual. Well... who decided she wasn't going to nap all day and be a Little Miss Grumpy Pants? That would me Miss Campbell herself. It was almost like she sensed something was up so she did not want me to leave her sight all day long. She fought sleep all day so come 5:30 when Sam and AJ were going to arrive at our house, she was falling asleep in my arms. I rushed to give her an early bath and get that out of the way and quickly made a bottle to feed her before she fell asleep. Since I knew some fun playtime with Sam and AJ was out the window, I figured they could attempt to feed her. She would have NONE of that AT ALL. All she did was stare at me and cry while sweet AJ tried to feed her. Needless to say, I fed her her bottle and she fell asleep after swallowing the last drip. The only consolation to not being able to play with her at all was being able to hold her for a little while as she slept peacefully before putting her in her crib. After being in her crib for a few minutes, Campbell felt she needed to show off her set of lungs one last time before the night was over. Poor Sam and AJ were able to calm her down and get her back to sleep after just a short time. They were so so thoughtful to babysit for us and didn't complain one bit. Hopefully it will be a better experience next time!

So This is What I Envisioned.....

This is how I pictured our darling Campbell on Halloween with her little lamb costume. Notice the joyful smile and the look of glee on her face. Heck, she may even be squeeling with delight!

Instead, we had this pitiful little thing I shared with you in earlier posts. We still love her. I guess there's always next year. :)

16 Weeks

I haven't taken very many pictures so far this week, but I thought I'd share some pictures of Campbell sleeping since she is such a good sleeper. She sleeps from about 7 pm to 6 am and takes about 3 naps a day. Babies sure are precious, but what is it about a sleeping baby that is oh so sweet?

Bathing Beauty

15 Weeks

I really just want to share how THANKFUL I am for my healthy baby girl. I praise God daily for sharing this wonderful child with us and choosing US to be HER parents. I have heard so many heartbreaking stories lately of parents who are dealing with the loss of a baby, and it just makes me SO THANKFUL for a healthy child. It cannot be taken for granted. I LOVE being a mommy and pray that God blesses us with more babies in the years to come.

Look at this cute little leopard bottle holder. She didn't quite know what to think of it. She's looking into its eyes!!

Baby Bootcamp Babies

I don't have any cute Halloween pics since we had two bad experiences with the little lamb. I figured that was enough! We opted to go out to eat instead and had a great Halloween.

We did however decide to dress the kids up Friday morning for Baby Bootcamp Class. (The bootcamp is for the mommies, not the babies) Only a few dressed up, but see if you can spot a little Padres player, a German, and a zoo keeper. I wasn't quite sure how to position Campbell in the first picture since she can't sit up, but we decided to just prop her up on the little zoo keeper. Neither of them quite knew what to do. Once again, the lamb costume was a definite no-no, so we opted for her little pumpkin hat instead.

This girl cracks us up! She hardly ever really cries, she just yells at us. She's developed quite a high-pitched squeal as well. I say she's like a one year old in a three month old body. I think the one and two year olds at Baby Boot Camp are having an influence on her. She's never around babies her own age, just older kids. She LOVES to hear the sound of her own voice and just talks and talks for no reason at all. Sometimes we'll think she needs something, but she's actually completely content and just wants to hear herself.
Campbell and her best friend Ollie.

She just loves to snuggle with him.

"Huh?"

Campbell is showing off her tricks. She's really working on rolling over. I tried to get some action shots!

She's got those fingers in her mouth all of the time.
