Blessed

We have been so blessed to have found an amazing church here in San Diego. We have attended since their grand opening service back in January, and have hated to miss a Sunday since. The best part is the wonderful friends we have made through our church. This week, they decided to have a little "going away" dinner for us since we'll only be here a few more weeks. It makes me so uncomfortable for everyone to get together in honor of our family, but it meant so much to me at the same time. They have been so loving and supportive of us, and have become our "California family." We are truly blessed to have been a part of Elevate from the beginning, and we look forward to seeing what amazing things the future holds for this awesome church!
------------------------------------------
On another note, here are some pictures from our week. Campbell hanging out in her chair having a snack.
Okay, this is too funny. The next 2 pictures are pictures I took of the video monitor. Campbell has been doing these headstand things in her crib. She puts her head down and tries to kick her legs up like a headstand. It cracks me up so I thought I'd try to capture it on camera.

I attempted some pigtails again and thought they were too sweet. She looks like such a big girl.

She's almost giving us a "Go Pokes" in this pic if her little thumb was out.
She found this little spot and was acting like it was her clubhouse or something. She was bringing her toys in there with her and getting all excited about it.
She's going to be so mad at me one day for telling this story, but I can't resist! Campbell was being all snuggly with Kevin right before bedtime and putting her head on his chest and hugging him and it was just too sweet, so OF COURSE, I thought I'd take a picture. She's been pretty obsessed with the camera lately, so anytime she sees me with it, she rushes towards me to try and push the buttons. Well, she caught me with the camera and pushed away from Kevin really quickly to jump up and come get the camera and tooted so loudly when she moved. The funny part is that I caught Kevin's reaction to it. Cracks me up.

Good Food & Good Friends

About 2 weeks ago, I was able to go out to eat with a couple of sweet friends from church. We get together quite a bit with our kids, but we thought we needed a night to ourselves. We enjoyed great food and great conversation at PF Changs. These girls are awesome!

Crazy Campbell

Campbell has a new love for macaroni and cheese. On this day, she had it all over her face and decided to put some in her hair!
She's a mess!
I have mentioned before how she always wakes up from her afternoon nap with wet, sweaty hair. This afternoon, she did NOT disappoint.
And my all time favorite...!!!

Changes

Many of you may know, but we are leaving California and moving to Texas. We have enjoyed our experience in California and do not regret it for one minute. Amazing things have come from our time here that we will never forget. An opportunity has come about for Kevin's job to take us to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and we don't feel we could pass it up. We are within driving distance from our family, and we have lots of friends that live in the Dallas area that we look forward to reconnecting with. We are so thankful for this opportunity and feel that the timing is right. We laugh that we've been married almost 5 years and will have lived in 4 states, but we don't plan on leaving TX anytime soon. I love my little family and look forward to our Texas adventures with my wonderful husband and precious daughter by my side.

1 Year Old

I haven't done this in a while, but these are some things I want to document and remember about our sweet Campbell at 1 year old.

  • Bedtime is anywhere between 6 and 8 o'clock depending on if you get 1 or 2 naps during the day.
  • You usually wake up around 6:30 in the morning.
  • You love watching cartoons. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Backyardigans, Handy Manny, Yo Gabba Gabba, and Dora are some of your favorites.
  • I can't get you to any type of meat or vegetables except for sweet potatoes if that even counts as a vegetable.
  • You love waffles, pancakes, fruit, cheese, all kinds of crackers, rice, macaroni and cheese, yogurt, and french fries.
  • You won't drink milk or juice, but you love water.
  • You love your blankies and monkey.
  • You love taking a bath and whenever we say "bath time" you say "ba ba ba ba" in a high-pitched voice and get really excited.
  • You love playing outside, especially with rocks.
  • You are walking really well on your own.
  • You love climbing the stairs.
  • You have become more cuddly and like to hug us and pat us.
  • You are really trying to talk and are getting closer to making more words.
  • You love pretending you're on the phone. ANYTHING can be a phone: a straw, a plastic banana, a book, anything. You hold it to your ear and say "Hi-i" in two syllables.
  • You've mastered a really good fake cry and tantrum. We're trying to stop that asap!
  • You've always got your little pointer finger out to tell us what you want or where you want to go.
  • You love dogs.

Walking and Hairdo's

Campbell has been doing lots of walking around here lately. She's still no walking pro, but she's gaining confidence and getting better. She's trying to walk in Kevin's shoes below. She really likes shoes these days, and tries to put on any shoes she sees.

Walking in a little park down by La Jolla shores.
Walking in the park in our neighborhood

She had to work in a few pull-ups.

Playing at home and still pushing that stroller. I wonder how many miles that thing has on it???

She put this headband on by herself.
I had been wearing it, and I saw her really studying it on my head. Next thing I know, she had put it on herself.
These pictures don't do it justice, but she woke up with the craziest 80's rocker hair the other morning. It didn't have quite the same volume by the time I took a picture.
